Team Moves Leave UVM In Cold, Looking For Games
The University of Vermont is still looking for games.
It was a tough off-season for UVM, as the rest of the NECRC moved to other conferences. In the end, what had been perhaps the most competitive conference in the nation, top to bottom, with Norwich, Rhode Island, Middlebury, and New Hampshire, as well as Vermont, battling it out every week.
DII College Latest
We know almost all of the teams that will play in the Men's National DII College quarterfinals, after results this weekend; here's the rundown:
Norwich Undefeated, Middlebury Wins
Norwich University overcame a slow start to beat University of Vermont and move to 3-0 in the New England CRC Men's DII Conference.
The Cadets arrived in Burlington somewhat flat and UVM scored a try in the first three minutes. Seven minutes later Norwich bounced back and to took a 7-5 lead with a try by freshman prop Keyon McCloud Holman and Keegan Frick conversion.
UVM Rebound Continues
If you discounted the University of Vermont as a contender in the national playoff scene, you might have been a shade premature.
Rutland Edges Essex for Vermont Trophy
The Vermont Girls U19 Championship brought all the heat that one hopes for in a state final: two teams both capable of a title, a tight score, and a little bit of history to make winning the trophy that more rewarding. When finalists Rutland and Essex met during the regular season, the former won 37-22 – its first in two years.
