Yes we like to recognize try-scorers, but some sterling defensive work and a few clutch plays get recognized in this week's DI men's college Gamebreakers.
RPI shocked pretty much everyone with a 30-19 defeat of the US Merchant Marine Academy Sunday to move on to the Tri-State Conference Men’s DII final.
The Big Ten Conference has a little wrinkle in it, in fact two.
The first wrinkle is that it's not finished despite Finals Day being this coming weekend. Michigan vs Michigan State was postponed due to lightning, and will be played Wednesday, Nov. 6.
That game has an effect on what the final placement games will be Saturday, so will have to be played.
Sacramento State defeated Stanford 21-17 to win the Pacific Western Rugby Conference Men's College 7s Saturday, going 4-0 on the day.
Led by an MVP performance by Arnold June Walker, Sac State got big performances from Amir Frazier, Vincent Pace, Kellan Fisch, and Miles Brown. The Hornets accomplished this victory despite missing Cutler Pons and Josh Reyes due to injuries.
