ELLENSBURG, Wash. – BYU started on a torrid pace and held on to beat Central Washington Saturday in Washington.
This was the first 15s loss of the season for CWU, and a nice boost for BYU after last week's victory over Saint Mary's. The Cougars powered in for two early tries and a penalty to lead 17-0 and held a 24-0 advantage at halftime.
Life University has improved to 4-0 in the Mid-South Conference with a very convincing 81-12 victory over Clemson.
The Running Eagles got off to a quick start with tries from Harley Davidson, Zander van Schalkwyk, and freshman Ryan Rees. Clemson got a try back, but a quick-tap from emerging talent Harley Wheeler and then another try from van Schalkwyk made it 29-5 at halftime.
