Claremont Colleges won the National Small College Rugby Organization champions cup, defeating Siena College 57-17 in the final over the weekend.

Western Washington and Washington State lead the field after Day One of the Men’s NCRC 7s in Pullman, WA.
WWU went 3-0, defeating Washington 43-7, Eastern Washington 19-12, Oregon 42-0. In the seller Pool B, WSU needed just two victories, but both of them were close. The Cougars beat Boise State 12-5 and Oregon State 24-19 to win the group.
The Southern Rugby Conference finished up its 7s series this Saturday at UNC-Charlotte.
Charlotte is the top-seeded team, with Furman heading up Pool B in a tight competition. Those two are favored, but Wake Forest and Appalachian State are looking to surprise.
The winner will go on to the national men's D2 college 7s championships in Tucson, Arizona May 24-26.
College teams as well as players and fans from around the country have voted to create the list of five finalists for the Rudy Scholz Award.
Given annually to the top men's college player in the country, the Rudy Scholz Award is sponsored by the Washington Athletic Club in Seattle, WA and has been presented each of the last three years.
