GRR: College Men
This entire winter and spring we ranked St. Thomas at #2 and San Diego at #1, until this final week.
We almost had that ranking this week, too, save for an astonishing final play of the CRAA D1AA final. So we move St. Thomas to #1 and San Diego to #2.
A Thriller in CRAA D1AA Final
CRAA wrapped up their D1AA season with a weekend of games and in the end one of the most dramatic games of the season, if not the most dramatic.
St. Thomas played relatively well, but perhaps struggled with the physicality and tenacity of the Sam Houston State defense to get through Friday's semifinal 27-15.
In a game that saw nine lead changes, the California Golden bears rode three late tries and the adventurous approach to their game that they had pursued all season to defeated Life University 55-38 Saturday night in the D1A final in Indianapolis.
The College Rugby Association of America (CRAA) caps off its season (with one exception) this coming weekend at Kuntz Stadium in Indianapolis.
The weekend will be three days of rugby, with men's 15s championship games plus two women's 7s tournaments. Here's what's up:
The US Rugby Foundation is thrilled to announce our 19 exceptional student-athletes selected for collegiate scholarships in the 2024-2025 academic year.
Each recipient will receive a minimum of $1,000 in financial support for educational expenses including tuition, materials, and academic fees.
