Bowdoin Still King of NESC
Bowdoin is 3-0 in the New England Small College (NESC) conference, and there’s little doubt that the Polar Bears will repeat as league champion again this fall. Bowdoin’s most recent win came against Amherst, which forfeited due to numbers and combined with the Brunswick, Maine, side for a friendly.
4 Undefeated in MARC
The undefeateds remain undefeated in the Mid-Atlantic Rugby Conference, and the top four are starting to come into focus.
In the Pennsylvania Division, Bloomsburg improved to 4-0 after a 118-17 win over Lock Haven (0-4). The team has scored 49 tries this season, and 18 were dotted down on Saturday.
Women DII College Fall Top 20 - Oct. 6, 2015
Like its DI counterpart, the Women’s DII College rankings that will be maintained for the rest of 2015 will only concern fall-based and split-season teams. Those programs playing league matches in both the fall and spring – as well as the fall champion – will carry over to the 2016 spring rankings.
Hurricane Doesn't Dampen MARC Victors
Hurricane Joaquin forced some cancellations and forfeits in the Mid-Atlantic Rugby Conference (MARC), but four DII women’s games did take place. Out front were division leaders Kutztown and Bloomsburg, which outscored their opponents by a combined 98-0.
Rocky Mtn Leaders Embrace Change
Administrating the women’s Rocky Mountain conference is like coaching a team. There are well established programs – the veterans – that plan for playoffs and whose engagement in the league hinges on a level of professionalism (e.g., playing a season without forfeit wins).
