West Point needed all of their patience and intensity to hold off Iona to win 16-5 Friday night in a Rugby East clash.
Both teams scored one try, but flyhalf Jon Kim's kicking was the difference, as he logged three penalties and a conversion.
West Point flyhalf Jon Kim set a program record with seven conversions in Army’s 49-3 defeat of Stony Brook.
However, Kim’s kicking wasn’t the only thing that impressed. The convert from the Army football team (where he was the kicker) showed good all-around skills and ran the West Point offense smartly in the opening victory.

West Point is looking for a Rugby East championship, and Stony Brook is looking for an Empire Conference, and both will start that journey on Friday.
West Point and Quinnipiac open up their season Thursday night, September 1, in a repeat of the National Collegiate Women's Varsity Rugby Association championship game from last fall.
