GRR: USA Men 7s
The USA Men's 7s team goes to Dubai this week with a number of injured players back in the lineup.
Captain Kevon Williams returns, as does prop Joe Schroeder, and Stephen Tomasin.
While Australia defeated Fiji to win the Hong Kong 7s, the USA returns home having finished a pretty creditable 6th.
To get to that 6th place the Eagles needed to win one game on Day Three, and they did that, putting in their best defensive showing in the 5th-6th semifinal.
The USA is in the quarterfinals of the Hong Kong 7s after finishing pool play 2-1.
The Eagles did lose their final pool game against Fiji, although the 24-0 result wasn’t a typical Fijian avalanche. But then they had already beaten Japan.
Job #1 done for the USA in the Hong Kong 7s with a tight win, but a win nonetheless.
The Eagles beat Spain 15-14 in their opening, and only, game on Friday, doing just enough, but it was enough
