Furman University upended DI South Carolina 22-14 this past weekend, opening up a first-half lead and holding off the Gamecocks.
The University of South Carolina won a tough game on the road this weekend, beating NC State 22-20 in Raleigh, NC.
It was a solid bounceback game for the Gamecocks, who were beaten soundly by Life University the week before.
Life University, currently ranked #1 by Goff Rugby Report, and South Carolina, currently ranked 23rd, meet up in what is essentially the opening game for each for the 2015 winter/spring season.
Look for a college sports rivalry that’s more intense than Clemson v South Carolina, go ahead, look for one; the chances are, you won’t find it.
South Carolina has claimed the SCRC Championship, but perhaps the biggest news of the weekend among the SEC teams is that they didn’t beat Tennessee in the final, they beat Alabama.
