The University of California scored four tries and Jake Anderson added two penalty kicks, and Cal limited hosts UCLA 32-7 to win its 10th straight Storer Classic Sunday on North Athletic Field at UCLA. The Bears finished a 4-0 weekend to open their spring 15s season with 178 points scored over 160 minutes, with playing time spread among more than 50 student-athletes.

For the 10th year UCLA hosts the Dennis Storer Classic, and once again their rivals, Cal, are the favorites. The Storer Classic started in 2006 as a two-day 15s competition for then-Pac-10 teams. It continued as such until a PAC Rugby Conference was formed.

The college 7s on the West Coast comes to a climax in the next few weekends with the Battle in the Bay and the PAC Conference 7s, both held in the Bay Area. Of the two, the PAC might hold bigger prestige, associated, as it is, with colleges from the PAC-12 conference.

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif - University of California Los Angeles beat University of California Berkeley (Cal) in a tight final to win the West Coast 7s Saturday at the Cal Poly Sports Complex.

"Looking at day overall, we did a lot of the things we wanted to get done," said captain Jake Anderson. "It was a decent opening to the season."
