The defending DIAA champion UC Davis Aggies opened up their 2016 season with an impressive 53-7 defeat of Sacramento State.

Despite changing coaches and some upheaval within the team as a result, Davis looked on point as Sacramento State struggled with not having all of their players - classes have not resumed at the school so some players had not returned.

It’s opening weekend for Sacramento State, as the Hornets take a short trip to Southern California to take on Cal Poly and UC Santa Barbara.

It’s a very early start for Sac State but Head Coach Adam Macrae wants his team on the field as soon as possible.

The Pacific Western Conference has named its squad of 25 players to face Durham University in June.

From the North of England, Durham University which has a very successful rugby program and two of their recent graduates have signed with pro clubs in England. They are on a four-game tour of California.

The UC Davis Aggies are the Men’s DIAA college champions after defeating Central Florida in a hard slog of a final 18-15 at Kennesaw State University’s Fifth Third Bank Stadium Saturday.

The Aggies had to come back from a 15-3 halftime deficit to do it, but eventually worse down a UCF team used to putting away their opposition early.
