GRR: Nelson College Scholarship
The scholarship recipients at Nelson College in New Zealand have started off nicely.
GRR caught up with the new Nelson College Scholarship recipients JW Sarkees and Connor Bender.
The two will join the New Zealand school to study and play rugby in April and stay through the Northern Hemisphere summer. It will be a unique, once-in-a-lifetime experience for both.
The U.S. Rugby Foundation is pleased to announce it has granted Nelson College Rugby Scholarships to Connor Bender of Cleveland, Ohio, and Joseph Walter “JW” Sarkees of Central, South Carolina.
There are still several weeks left for boys high school rugby players to apply for a scholarship to attend Nelson College in New Zealand to study and play top-level rugby.
In 2023 Oliver Kirk and Max Doerfler attended Nelson—their applications were so good that donors helped the US Rugby Foundation support two scholarships.
High school rugby players who want to study and play rugby as an elite school in New Zealand still have a few weeks to apply for a scholarship.
Following after the hugely successful US Rugby Foundation Scholarship program to Nelson College, the program is being repeated for 2-24.
