This was supposed to be a rebuilding year for Armstrong girls in Minnesota.
The four-time state champions had graduated a huge part of their 2013 team, and with weather playing havoc with their early schedule, Head Coach Jimmy Hanson decided to pull back, not go to the Midwest or NIT tournaments, and concentrate on competing at the state level.

The Edina boys HS team capped off an excellent Minnesota High School season with a 46-7 defeat of Minnetonka to win the state title Sunday at Irondale HS.
Edina pulled away from Hopkins 43-7 in the semis, while the big upset was Minnetonka, which beat #1 seed Duluth/North Shore 17-15 to make the championship game.
In the Plate Final, Burnsville shut out Southside 46-0.

The Minnesota HS Girls season is over as Armstrong defeated Orono in the championship game Sunday in Irondale HS, Minn. Armstrong made the final by defeating Hopkins 78-0 in the semis on Saturday, while Orono had a much more difficult time, getting by #3 seed Burnsville 5-0.
