Men's College 7s News
It was only 10-0 at half, but Virginia Women’s Rugby (UVA) pulled away for a 29-0 Cup quarterfinal win over Rutgers at the College 7s National Championship. UVA will play Central Washington, which defeated Cal 24-5 in its first knockout of the day, in the Cup semifinals at 12:40 p.m. MT.
One side of the women's college 7s championship quarterfinals was exciting; the other saw a couple of lopsided scores. The morning began with Penn State and Stanford, and their traditional rivalry played out wonderfully. Princeton and Lindenwood followed, and that game came down to one try.
The Men’s DII College 7s seems to be hugely competitive, except for a couple of teams.
It took 13 hours and wasn’t settled until the last game, but the Men’s DI College Championships got its first day of action in the books.
St. Mary’s and Central Washington looked unstoppable. Both teams had their little moments, but in the end always righted the ship and severely punished opposition mistakes.

The top two finishers in each pool moved into the Cup competition; the #3 teams in each pool will start at the semifinal phase and play for the Bowl; and the four #4 teams will play for the Shield.
