Four teams are left in the hunt of the Men’s DII College 7s Championships, as the pool play and the quarterfinals are done.
In the quarterfinals, Minnesota-Duluth had their hands full against Texas San Antonio, and were just an unconverted try ahead late in the game at 10-5, before a final Fighting Penguins try put them up 15-5.
It was a competitive and up-and-down pool play for the Men’s DII competition at the USA Rugby Collegiate 7s National Championships, with three ties, and only one pool where the standard split of results happened.
Pool Pay is done in the Men’s DI bracket of the USA Rugby College 7s Championships, and the big surprise is that the top seed is Davenport.
It’s not that anyone thought Davenport would not compete, it’s just that they were kind of a stealth team, and came to Cary, NC on fire.
