Men DII College News
Turning heads this past week in Men's DII college rugby was University of Vermont, which dismissed a very capable UMass Lowell side 38-0.
No one doubts that the New England Wide Collegiate Rugby Conference is a difficult conference, so to win a game by that margin (the two teams tied in their match last year) is definitely worth a closer look.
Loyola of Chicago improved to 2-0 with yet another fairly comfortable win, beating Illinois State 50-15.
DII conferences have close to 50 games this weekend.
Matchups to watch: Villanova vs Bucknell is certainly a big one in the MARC. The Great Midwest has four games with Loyola at Illinois State and Marquette at Nothern Iowa both games with plenty on the line.
Bucknell and Scranton moved to 2-0 in the MARC D2 North after wins over the weekend.
Neither of these teams is all that separated from the rest of the conference as Villanova and Bloomsburg are both at 1-0 and right behind them.
Scranton moved to 2-0 by beating East Stroudsburg 81-12.
