After Wisconsin-Whitewater thumped Springfield 85-12 in Saturday’s first round of the national playoffs, but it wasn’t anywhere near as easy on the second day.

The Warhawks had to battle past a Rhode Island team that was much more difficult.

“Rhode island was really good and experienced and played well as a team,” said Whitewater Head Coach Matt Pederson.

The Men's DII Collegiate semifinalists are set after Sunday's games.

Minnesota-Duluth capped off a snow-covered weekend with an impressive 46-3 defeat of #9 Lindenwood-Belleville. The #1-ranked Fighting Penguins held their two playoff opponents to just six points, and no tries, and looked every inch a defending national champion.

It's Men's DII College Round of 16 time.

This weekend, 16 teams play on Saturday to advance to the quarterfinals, and then on Sunday play for a place in the semis which will be held in two weeks.
