GRR: Lindenwood
There is going to be a major college rugby game this weekend.
That in and of itself is news, but the matchup is newsworthy for other reasons.
This is a conference game, the first one in almost 11 months. The teams involved, Lindenwood and Arkansas State, were ranked in the Top Ten of the D1A rankings (and also in GRR’s own ranking, which contributes to D1A’s Top 20).
Lindenwood University's men's rugby program has announced some changes in its coaching staff.
Lindenwood University Head Coach Josh Macy talks with Alex Goff about how he got into the coaching business, his work at AIC, and his experience in taking over the Lindenwood program.
Macy talks about handling bad apples, working around depth chart problems, and whether it's better to play a truncated sevens season or a full half-year.
In a hugely physical clash between top-10 D1A teams, Saint Mary's pulled away from Navy to beat the Midshipmen 43-25 Saturday at Cal's Witter field.
On a day when two military academies were in action in Berkeley, with Army playing Cal, players and teams had a unique opportunity to test themselves.
After losing their first league game in three years, Life University rebounded to beat #2-ranked Lindenwood in the Mid-South.
Interestingly, Life's winning margin was the same as the team's losing margin last week against Arkansas State: 29-22.
