As expected the dominoes are quickly falling in men's college rugby this fall, with conferences that play their 15s season in the fall announcing (or at least making it very clear) that they will not be playing as normal because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Iona College Rugby has decided not to compete this fall.
Iona Head Coach Bruce McLane told Goff Rugby Report today, Wednesday, that the team will not play any games at least until 2021.
McLane said he expects most teams in the Northeast to come to this decision at some point, and decided that the students would benefit from an early decision.
American International College men's and women's rugby have announced that they will follow the lead of the university and the related sports conferences in not competing this fall.
The Northeast-10 Conference, which is where AIC plays most of its sports, announced that in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, all competition will be suspended through December 31.
