GRR: Liberty Conference
Things weren't terrible three weeks into the season for Boston College, but they weren't great.
Yale pulled off a big win over the weekend in Liberty D1AA, beating previously undefeated Columbia 34-14 to move to 4-1.
While UMass sits 4-0, and have won a close one over Yale, the Bulldogs moved into first while the Minutemen were idle. And that's a good signal about where we are in this conference. Yale has played a bunch of tough teams, and has beaten almost all of them.
In the meeting between the top two teams in the NCR D1 Liberty Conference, Brown encountered one of their toughest opponents, but was still able to pull out a 24-15 win.
AIC has been very good at making life difficult for their opposition and came into the game unbeaten in-conference, as did Brown. Now they slip to 5-1.
Big winning margins were the hallmark of this weekend in the Liberty NCR D1 conference.
Earlier games this fall had been closer, with most of those close games involving AIC. However this week AIC beat Syracuse by 73, 83-10.
The closest game of the weekend was Fairfield beating Harvard 37-0.
After a year when the battle for the top of the Liberty was very close, RPI has made a huge step in the first two games of the season.
The Engineers beat rivals Albany 39-0 two weeks ago and then beat a tough SUNY Oswego side 68-5.
