Five teams went 3-0 in the Boys Open 7s Thursday at the Las Vegas Invitational, with the Arizona Bobcats dominating and taking the #1 seed.
The Bobcats beat Rugby Royals, Loudon, and Medicine Hat, and allowed just one try.
The Bobcats are the official all-star team from Rugby Arizona, and this team was drawn from eight different teams.
One of the most intriguing brackets at this week’s Las Vegas Invitational will be the Boys U16 7s.
The teams enrolled are very strong, with youngsters from the British Columbia Elite 7s program, Eagle Impact Rugby Academy, and Atlantis leading the field.
The pools are set for the Boys HS Elite 7s at the Las Vegas Invitational.
Defending champions British Columbia are back, and there’s a very good chance that the final will, once again, be BC v the HS All Americans, as it has been every year.
The National Athletic Village (NAV) has selected an all-star studded side for the Las Vegas Invitational U18 Varsity pool. The NAV Selects held tryouts in January and February in partnership with Tiger Rugby to identify talent in the Carolinas, California and Texas that were hungry to prove themselves as some of the best high school players in the country.
The Ariel Re Bermuda 7s Boys HS bracket is still open to teams.
Two teams representing Bermuda, plus Greenwich HS out of Connecticut and West Chester our of Pensylvania, are playing in a 7s tornament in Bermuda March 18-19. But there is room for a couple more.
