HS 7s News
Summit HS won the CIRA Girls HS 7s last week, going 4-0 in the final tournament and giving up exactly one try through the day.
Summit beat Regis Jesuit 35-0, Monarch 33-0, Denver East 33-5 in the semifinal, and their own 2nd side, the Summit Tigers, 36-0 in the final. The Tigers got to the final with wins over Eagle Valley, Denver East, and a close one of Monarch.
The Saints Rugby Club took the Northern California Girls HS 7s over the weekend, going 4-0 on Saturday.
The Saints, out of Sacramento, are made up of student-athletes from Saint Francis HS and Christian Brothers HS—two coed Catholic schools in the city. Under Head Coach Wes Hilger, the Saints scored at least four tries in every game and never gave up more than a try per game.
In what was perhaps a bit of a surprise, Owyhee HS defeated Rocky Mountain in the final of the Western regional 7s held in Idaho over the weekend.

The Medina Bees worked their way through a very difficult Rugby Ohio girls 7s championships to take the state title.
On a wet day that got wetter and muddier by the game, Medina was paced by the elusive Hannah Trsek and the powerful Libby Kelly and Rachel Coleman.
The local teams seem to have held sway at the GARHS Day One.
The tournament, held in Owyhee, Idaho, welcomes teams from Colorado, Washington, Oregon, and Arizona as well as five Idaho sides.
Rocky Mountain won both of their games while allowing just a try. Eagle HS accomplished the same, Owyhee went one better, shutting out both opponents,
