NC State, which has a strong engineering program, and they along with Cal Poly and Texas A&M have all been successful in rugby.

Missouri S&T scored four tries to defeat Pitt State 24-15 Saturday in nasty, wet conditions to take control of the Western Division of the Gateway Conference in Men's DII College action.

The win put Rolla at 3-0, dropping Pitt State to 2-1. Meanwhile Central Missouri got its first conference win with a 112-0 shutout of UMKC.

It was a bit of a soft opening for DII men's college teams Labor Day Weekend, but some teams have already kicked off.

Missouri S&T was really strong two years ago in the Gateway, and made a statement a week ago with a big victory over Principia. The Miners were tough and physical and that saw them through.
