St. Thomas and Florida are the only undefeated teams left in the Florida D1AA after both won over the weekend.
Three teams are now unbeaten and atop the Florida D1AA Conference, as Florida, Florida State, and upstarts St. Thomas all won.
For the Florida Gators it was a close-run thing as South Florida scored early and added another to make it 10-0 before the Gators got going. USF still led just after halftime, 17-7 and around 50 minutes, after Isaiah Taylor's try, it was 22-7.
Florida State opened up their Florida D1AA season with an impressive 33-14 win over Central Florida.
On a windy day the breeze had a distinct effect on field possession for the teams, nd FSU handled it a little bit better.
"Typically UCF gets better through the season and they are a good team; we expect them to be improved later on," said FSU Head Coach Michael Gomez.
A late try from captain and lock Miles Brown capped off a dramatic, back-and-forth CRAA DIAA final, putting Sacramento State over Florida State 28-24.

Down 19-6 in the first half, and 29-16 in the second half, the Seminoles nevertheless came back. Their bench was enormously influential in the closing minutes, helping FSU overhaul a very good Bulls team 31-29.
