GRR: Eagle Impact Rugby Academy
Eagle Impact Rugby Academy has announced that it has brought on Brendan Keane full-time to serve as Associate Director alongside Director Salty Thompson.
Keane has been working for several years with the EIRA program in various capacities, kick-starting the Carolinas chapter while he was a teacher and rugby coach at Charlotte Catholic HS, and then coaching the EIRA U16s and U17s.
The Men’s Collegiate All American assembly this past weekend pulled in players from plenty of high-profile teams, but every now and then they bring in someone from a team that doesn’t get a lot of notice, and often those players impress; one such player was, and is, Larome White.
The USA national team programs can never have enough props, and one who seems set to be a big part of American rugby's front row is David Ainuu.
Among the performances of note last month was a special second half from an unexpected quarter for AIC.
Long known (and rightly so) for an excellent backline, American International also features a pretty solid forward pack. Central to that was all-conference lock Corey Momsen, a big, powerful tight-five forward who made key defensive players, won rucks, and worked the lineout.
Eagle Impact Rugby Academy hosted a skills clinic this past weekend with a special visit from EIRA Head Man Salty Thompson.
The players worked on skills and decision-making in the chilly air of Pelham, NY.
