DIA Rugby News

02.26.2020 - Alex Goff

It's not entirely about the front row, but the front row features heavily in our list of D1A players who stood out this past week.

Ryan Rees, Life University

With a try, three covnersions, and a penalty, as well as an athletic and heads-up play to end the game, Rees was probably the difference in Life's 29-22 defeat of Lindenwood.

This week's DIA ranking decisions are difficult.

Arkansas State beat Life on February 8, and Life then beat Lindenwood on February 15. Both scores 29-22. Both games were close, but we got the feeling that the Life-Lindenwood game was just a little bit closer ... Life was in real danger of seeing Lindenwood tie that game in the final minute.

Jason Scheepers scored three tries to lead Arkansas State University past another ranked opponent Saturday afternoon as the Red Wolves dominated Clemson, 82-8, at Curt Huckaby Field.

A-State jumped to third this week in the D1A rankings after knocking off #1 Life University a week ago. Clemson is ranked #23 (26 by Goff Rugby Report).

Let's start with the new #1 Cal. The Bears open their annual two-game series with the University of British Columbia.
