GRR: College All-Stars
The California Grizzlies U23 team is set to embark on a tour to Argentina, bringing back a longstanding select-side name and reinvigorating something we haven't seen much of in a while—the regional select-side tour.
The tour will run from June 16 to June 24, with the first game being against Club Atletico on June 17.
Panther Rugby Academy has announced the addition of four coaches to its staff: JK Anderson and Jody Hensley, Jameson Bonti, and Emil Walton.
Anderson will lead the U23 Men’s 7s Program, while Hensley will head up the Men’s 15s Program.
The age-grade select-side tournament that ruled the roost for many years is back, and just in time, too.
Twenty-four players have been named to the NCR All-Star all-tournament team.
The All Star National Shield Challenge, held on January 15-16 at the Houston Sabercats’ AVEVA Stadium, brought together eight regional All Star teams and five Rising Star teams. The event included over 330 players from 130 schools across the country.
New England Red won the NCR collegiate all-star championship with a hard-nosed forward effort and some very smart game management, holding off a tenacious Pacific Coast team 18-8.
