It was a triumphant weekend for the women’s Ivy League. Dartmouth, the third conference team to go varsity, opened up league play with a 77-5 win over Penn today, while Harvard and Brown celebrated important non-conference victories on Saturday.

Recollections of that Bobcat squad only amplify the team’s progress in 2.5 years –not only was Quinnipiac playing in DII then, but its stardom also revolved around the phenomenal stiff-arming of Natalie Kosko.

The Mid-Atlantic region of the USA Rugby Women’s DI College Fall Championship, hosted by ACRA, feels familiar. That’s because the two Round of 16 matches – Quinnipiac vs. Army and Navy vs. Brown – have occurred in friendly form this fall.

The Ivy League kicked off in great fashion, as the two women’s varsity teams met in what was likely the toughest game of the regular season. The match was even more special for Brown, not only because it was the Bears’ first as a varsity team (Harvard was christened a year ago) but for the 24-15 win as well.
