(David Barpal photo). Niua is full of surprises. He can kick with both feet; he seems quiet and shy, but can be effusive and vocal when he needs to be; he has the mage of a shifty, smooth runner but is physically very powerful and can handle the collisions in midfield.

It's not entirely clear if Niua has fit in completely with the USA team. That's to be expect, as Niua has not established himself as a regular in the #13 jersey yet. What Niua does provide is a range of skills and good defense. He's a good kicker, and we have yet to see him really get flashy.

With the emergence of Seamus Kelly and Thretton Palamo, one wonders if Nuia will have more of a chance to challenge for a flyhalf spot.
