West End Defeats Doylestown

Rugby Virginia's West End beat a tough Doylestown team out of Pennsylvania 43-35 in a preseason match for both accomplish HS teams.

West End took an early 14-0 lead, but Doylestown replied with a try to make it 14-7. West End continued the pressure, though, and the teams entered the break with the Virginians up 26-14.

Doylestown scored right after the second half started. West End replied with three tries to blow the game open, seemingly, at 43-21. But once against Doylestown came back, scoring tries and showing some nice ball movement and some power running.

With the score 43-35, Doylestown had some chances to tie it, but West End held them out.

West End's speed and ball movement in the back line was the biggest difference with Jacob Estes and D'montae Noble having strong games. Outside center John Freeman also had some big runs and linked up with Noble and the rest of the deep three. Hooker Lleuan Israel also led from the front with several carries across the gainline, two tries, and solid work on defense.
