Valor notched their second win of the season with a 26-10 decision over 2021 Colorado runners-up Legend Titans.

Legend came out strong, with their well-drilled backs and hard-running forwards causing problems for Valor's defense. Unfortunately, their hands let them down on a number of occasions and allowed Valor time to find themselves. Both teams moved the ball up and down the field, only to consistently lose it in the red zone.

Following 30 minutes of scoreless play, Legend finally found the tryline with a number of well-executed phases of pick-and-go's from their big forwards. Titans missed the conversion and it was 5-0 Legend. Within minutes Valor had driven back down the field with strong runs by center Matt Hunter, fullback Braydon Dunne, and prop Jesse Fennelly. No. 8 Jack Whitley made a tough run to the line and muscled over for Valor's first try, converted by Hunter to make it 7-5 Valor.

Whatever happened in the halftime huddle lit a fire under Valor. Storming runs by Fennelly, hooker Rylan Palmer, wing Wilson Smith and the ever-present Niko Zaharas put Legend on their heels. Valors defense was also impressive with their tackling undercutting any Titan chances. Palmer found the tryline about 10 minutes into the half with a strong charge carrying a handful of Titans with him. Hunter nailed the conversion. Valor 14 Legend 5.

Legend kept things interesting with a well-worked try that saw them march down the pitch, and try an unsuccessful repeat of forwards pick-and-go. But that sucked in the Valor forwards so Legend spun it wide and they scored in the corner.

Valor turned up the intensity and within minutes looked like scoring again. Smith made a quick break down the touchline breaking a number of tackles, and cutting back inside lobbed a pass to flanker Brennen Boyle who was away under the posts. But Smith had stepped into touch and it was all for nothing. The ensuing lineout turned into a ruck, which was jackaled by Palmer and within a few phases Zaharas powered over the line for Valor's third try. Hunter was good for the conversion for a 21-10 lead.

Looking for the bonus point, Valor kept the pressure on and after a few more strong runs from Fennelly, Palmer, and Zaharas, Palmer found the line for his second try of the game. Hunter pulled the kick just wide to cap the scoring 26-10.
