After some feedback from clubs, Utah Youth Rugby has delayed its Fall HS 7s series by two weeks.

The delay is less about COVID-19 concerns—at least in a direct way—than it is about USA Rugby's new membership platform and about the needed delays in saying the season was a go.

Because UYR had to wait for Salt Lake County to reach a stage where sports were allowed, the season wasn't confirmed until recently. Most teams, as some mentioned in our earlier article, have just started practice, and basically told UYR their weren't ready to begin playing this weekend.

With numbers not quite there yet, UYR President Owen Power told Goff Rugby Report that "we are also concerned that the teams may not have had enough contact practices with their players. [Therefore] we feel that providing a seven-day registration period and a two-week runway for practices is in the best interests of the players."

Instead of beginning the season this weekend, the season will begin in two weeks on October 3 at the Regional Athletic Complex in Salt Lake City.
