Danville had a bye to the second day, an Coach John Straka said the rest helped his squad on a hot Sunday afternoon.

Danville took a 24-12 lead into halftime against Peninsula Green, but Pen Green scored two quick tries early in the second half to make it 24-22.

“We’ were doing well winning our own ball but we weren’t really using it,” said Danville Head Coach Roy Helu. “Once we started to really pick it up and go, we did better.”

Scrumhalf Keanu Andrade  had several big breaks for Danville, where he offloaded to his support for tries.

Final score 66-34.

Meanwhile, Granite Bay ran out to a quick 27-0 lead over Hayward with Matt Rogers and Sam Cusano once again heavily involved. But then, that was it. Two red cards caused the referee to call the game after about 20 minutes before things go out of hand.

Granite Bay takes the win and looks to a massive clash between the #1 and #3 HS clubs in the country (as ranked by Goff Rugby Report).

“Granite Bay are a tough team, smart and fit,” said Danville’s Helu. “They are fundamentally sound. We know we’ll be up for it.”
