Florida Invitational Rugby Showcase Returns to St. Johns County in 2023
Ponte Vedra, Florida – Following last year’s highly-successful Florida Invitational Rugby Showcase, organizers have announced that the event is returning for its third year to St. John’s County, May 19-21, 2023.
“As we’ve said before, this tournament is a commitment to creating opportunities for young people to grow in life and on the rugby field,” Florida Invitational organizer, Mike Wright said. “We’ve had such a great experience with the County and its partners that we are excited to announce that all Florida-based players are exempt from the registration fees contingent they complete three hours of community service in their local areas.

"This helps us continue the ethos of rugby and not only will this event enrich the lives of these young ruggers, but it will continue to a bring a substantial financial impact for the St. John’s County area. That is a win-win for all involved.”
Growing from 10 high school teams the first year, the Florida Invitational Rugby Showcase hosted 20 high school teams in May 2022. This year, the event is looking to increase that number again. With some of the best boys’ and girls’ teams from across the nation committed to the two-day tournament, the rugby showcase not only looks to provide players another opportunity for top-level competition, but also an avenue for collegiate recruitment.
Hosted in part by Florida’s Historic Coast, this highly anticipated event for Northeast Florida will take place at Davis Park in Nocatee and provides unlimited exposure to its young competitors with its Rugby Network live-stream broadcast. Last year, the Rugby Network broadcast of this event had 60,000 unique views.
