The USA won the London 7s this weekend for the program's first-ever tournament victory in the World Series.

The Eagles earned 108 pts in the series standings, easily their best, and finished 6th in the World Series, wel ahead of 7th-place Scotland. 

In addition, Danny Barrett and Madison Hughes made the London 7s Dream Team. Zack Test, who was injured for London, made the season Dream Team. Perry Baker was a finalist for Rookie of the Year. Hughes finished 2nd in the Series in points scored with 296, just behind Fiji's Osea Kolinisau, who scored 312. Carlin Isles for 4th in tries with 32, while Perry Baker had 28. Combined - and those two basically combined for a full-time player, they scored 60, well ahead of Seabelo Senatla's 47. 

 And then let's compare to history:

Before this season, the most times a team had made the Cup Quarterfinals was in 2012-13, with five. This year it was six. The most times a USA team has made the semis was once, in 2009-10 and in 2000-01. This year they made the semis three times. And, of course, they made their second-ever final, and won their first ever tournament cup.

The points earned, 108, beats the previous record of 71 from 2012-13 (the points system was changed in 2011 so the earlier points totals are quite low). The highest the USA has ver been ranked in the World Series is 10th (2009-10 and 2000-01). This year they finish 6th.
