After a winless season in 2023-24, Charlotte Catholic has started this season 2-0 after this weekend's a 42-3 win over Corinth out of Clayton, NC.

The official score listed will be 35-0 (the North Carolina league limits winning margins to 35). This was an important win for Charlotte Catholic as last week's game ended up being a bye as Sun Valley is unable to compete this year.

That's a shame and so forces GRR to change CC's and Hough's record to 2-0 because the Sun Valley games are not forfeits, but byes.

"The boys have been working really hard on our structures, both offensively and defensively," said Charlotte Catholic Head Coach Jason Zehmke. "Catholic will be working hard over the break."

Leading the way for Catholic were flanker Keane Teeter and center Luke Zehmkem, who scored two tries each and had something of a breakout performance.

With South Meck defeating Ardrey Kell and Hough defeating Hough, we have three unbeaten teams in the NC Single-School league, which wraps up at the end of February.

The league now takes two weekends off before returning January 9-11. In Tier 1 that weekend, Charlotte Catholic takes on a tough Marvin Ridge side, Hough plays South Meck in a big one, and Corinth takes on Myers Park.
