New Jersey
St. Augustine Prep hosted the latest of Rugby New Jersey's 7s tournaments and came away winners.
The Hermits U18 side won the tournament and their U16s won their younger bracket.
Several college coaches were in attendance, including the new head coach of St. Joseph’s University, Mike Williams, as well as several members of Atlantis. Eight teams played in the older bracket—St. Augustine, Christian Brothers, Morris, Union, Franklin, Highlanders, LaSalle College HS, and St. Joseph's Prep—with 12 in the U16 bracket.
St. Augustine got strong performances from Gavin Curran, Jeffrey George, Jake Slotnick, Jake Andre amd Jack DelMonte as the Hermits took the tournament.
Pennsylvania
Gregory the Great took this tournament in a Rugby PA series that seems to be crowning a new champion every week. Berks is a contender every time they play but are yet to finish on top. LaSalle, Knightmare, and now GGA have taken top honors in the boys bracket.
GGA II beat Berks 15-12 in pool play (Berks knocked on twice at the tryline). The result vaulted GGA into the cup bracket against their classmates GGA I, but it was II that won 31-5.
Knightmare was impressive, pitching two shutouts in pool play and allowing just the one try in the semifinal. But GGA scored four in the final to take it. Berks won a close 5th-place final over a tough Bishop Shanahan.

Indiana
No one has taken the state competition by the scruff of the neck, perhaps more because it's this coming weekend where the championship will be played. Carmel, Penn, Westside, Mudsock, and Royal Irish have all had their moments.
Other States
Utah does not have its results published from October 1 but we do know that the two front-runners, Olympus and Layton Christian faced off and Layton Christian won that matchup.
Rugby Oregon's 7s season for boys is a relatively mellow affair with compilation sides from Eastside getting on the field. Weather forced New York to postpone their efforts.
