The first big college 7s championship weekend is slated for April 25 in Virginia Beach as the ACRC 7s Championships for both men and women kick off.

Teams with serious championship aspirations will be at the ACRC 7s. Here’s a look at the field of teams:

American International College

Bentley University

East Stroudsburg University

Heat Elite

Kutztown

Kutztown II

Miami University of Ohio

Old Dominion University

Rutgers University

St. Bonaventure University

St. Joseph's University

Stony Brook University

Temple University

UMass Lowell

University at Buffalo

University of Cincinnati

University of Dayton

University of Hartford

Villanova University

This list includes several conference and major tournament champions plus some competitive runners up such as Temple (close losers to St. Joe’s in the Keystone final), Stony Brook, Dayton, and St. Bonaventure.

Watch out also for the Heat Elite, a team of college-age players who compete in the Cardinals DII Conference in 15s.

“URugby is excited to host the American Collegiate Rugby Championship Sevens,” said Tournament Director Stephen Siano. “We’re really proud to have a championship sevens tournament that is open to all teams in the country. Like the ACRC Bowl Series that we hosted last fall where we had eight conference champions, the #ACRC7s features five teams that are best in their conference including Kutztown University - Rugby East, American International College - East Coast Rugby Conference, Stony Brook - Empire Rugby Conference, St. Joes - Keystone Rugby Conference, and Miami of Ohio - Mid America Conference."
