After a highly successful New York 7s campaign that saw the Met NY Collegiate Selects go undefeated to win the Cup, scoring 182 pts and allowing just 42 in 5 games, the AC Rugby Foundation has looked to expand its outreach by backing a collegiate selects 15s team. 

Originally the team was to enter the Saranac Lake Tournament, but that has been canceled due to COVID-19 restrictions. The team currently has a game against the CT Selects, an all-star team made from men's teams from Connecticut. That game is tentatively set for August 22 (pending COVID restrictions). The teams have spoken about alternative dates if Aug 22 does not happen. 

AC Foundation Supports Collegiate All-Star Team At NY 7s

The team has some of the best young players from the NY area. Some of whom have played with or against each other since middle school. Selections were based upon coach recommendations, game film, in person viewing and performance at NY 7s.

This team hopes to provide players with potential the opportunity to play with each other, and provide them with tougher competition, and give them an opportunity to express themselves on the field.  Many of these players are expected to go on to play in the Atlantic Rugby Premiership or even become professionals in the future.
