Back in Action, Rio Americano Shakes Up NorCal school League

It's early days yet in the Northern California school season but already we have new dogs showing some bite.

Such as Rio Americano. The Hawks faced off with St. Francis, who had been so strong the last couple of years, and came away with an impressive 31-21 victory in Varsity Open Division play.

High-Level Battle as Torrey Pines Holds Off Cathedral Cathollic

More drama in Southern California was Torrey Pines held off a determined Cathedral Catholic 38-33 to stake their claim to the top spot in SoCal's new Premier school league.

These two teams played to a tie in 2025, and that was before SoCal's school league and the SCIRF league joined forces. With the Falcons and the Dons now in the same league, the game had even more meaning.

Jacksonville had a lot of turnover, but recruiting has been good.

Tight Florida HS Season Gets Going

Florida’s High School kicks off in earnest with some questions lurking.

What appears to be the case is that this could be a very tight league overall. That was shown last weekend with an early league game between Boca and Key Biscayne. Boca won by the slim margin of 18-14.
