California HS Update
In Southern California, SOC Raptors defeated a tenacious Back Bay club 29-22. That moved the Raptors 1-1.
Back Bay is a group of big, powerful athletes and while they are now 0-3 they have competed, staying within a try vs Belmont Shore and SOC.
Doylestown Keeps Rolling in PA
Doylestown continued their clear control of the Rugby Pennsylvania with an impressive victory over St. Joe's Prep Sunday.
The first 20 minutes of this game was pretty evenly-matched, with both sides embracing the hard-hitting and both challenging for possession in the middle section of the field.
TOA Unity Brings Home Tropical 7s Title
TOA won the Boys Elite U18s at Tropical 7s, beating Rebel Rugby Academy 26-10 in the final.
The key, said Coach Greg Turpen, was cohesion.
"The family and administrative unity spread into our team and extended well beyond the field," said Tupren. "Behind the scenes, our support team, families, and coach handled things seamlessly. It was pretty cool."
Easter Weekend Crossovers in California
Easter Weekend brought some crossover matches for HS clubs in California, as Southern Californians and Northern Californians crossed the divide to test themselves.
Granite Bay On Tour to Scotland
It's touring time and a number of teams have opted for a trip overseas during their spring break.
One such team is ranite Bay out of Northern California, which is touring Scotland with Irish Rugby Tours (yes, IRT takes teams to places other than Ireland).
