World Rugby expanded the 2015-2016 HSBC World Rugby Women’s Sevens Series to five tournaments once more, assing a fifth and final stop at Clermont-Ferrand in France on May 28-29.

The late-May stop will be the final test for each nation’s qualifying women’s sevens team before they head to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil for the 2016 Summer Olympic Games.

World Rugby has announced that Monaco and Dublin will host the final rugby sevens qualification tournaments for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

Jonah Lomu died today, November 17, a huge loss to the world rugby community. I thought I would just give you some thoughts about this player.

If you are young, you might not know who he was, perhaps you think he was just another one of those old guys. But Lomu, while the dominant wing in the game from 1994-1999, was much more than that.

World Rugby has announced major changes in its governance setup, including expanding representation of lower-raked or lower-profile (Tier 2) rugby nations on the governing Council.

Nigel Melville has indicated to World Rugby that USA Rugby will shoot to host the 2027 Rugby World Cup.

Melville cited the growth of the game at the youth and collegiate level as indication that there will be a fan base in 12 years. In addition, the United States in nicely positioned in terms of depth of sports venues and hotel capacity to host a major tournament.
