GRR: Kingfishers
St. Louis University High is hosting a All-Catholic-School tournament this weekend, bringing in several ranked teams to St. Louis.
St. Thomas Aquinas, ranked #6 among school teams at the moment, headlines a group that includes SLUH (ranked until recently), #44 Father Ryan, #48 St. Martin (Kingfishers), #37 Notre Dame de la Salette, and an up-and-coming Chaminade.
The Woodlands HS team traveled from Houston to the Kansas City area to play the Kansas City Jr. Blues and St. Thomas Aquinas.
St. Thomas Aquinas defeated Kingfishers 33-7 Saturday in a big match between well-regarded Kansas school teams.
Payton Ptasnik and Nick Jurczak were named players of the game.
In the B-side match, Aquinas won 43-10 and were led by Chris Glenn and Austin Turner.
Upstart school team the Kingfishers of St. Martin's Academy is back making noise once more after beating the Kansas City Junior Blues 42-7 on Saturday.
The Kingfishers rugby team is a relatively new one in the game and has already made a bit of a splash.
