Southern California started its league season after a long delay and Thunder, Belmont Shore, and the SOC Raptors all came away victorious, two coming back to do so.
The playoffs are set in the Southern California HS Club boys league.
South Bay and Back Bay won via forfeit, as did the Irvine Rhinos.
Belmont Shore U18s defeated Back May 31-21 in a meeting of undefeated teams in Southern California.
This heated rivalry game (Back Bay v Belmont Shore a SoCal Classic) was also for who would lead the SoCal Gold North.
It's a clash of two 4-0 teams in Southern California this weekend as Belmont Shore faces Back Bay Saturday.
It's about as close as you could imagine in the Southern California North Gold division.
Back Bay is 3-0, but beat South Bay by the slim margin of 24-22 on March 18, and then got by Santa Monica 10-9 this past weekend.
"We can't win by any less," said Back Bay Head Coach Jeff Bonnett. "If games get any closer we're not winning anymore!"
