The Atlantis select side program won the Boys' High School Division of the 2014 Surfside Sevens by defeating the Maryland Exiles 19-7 in the final Sunday in Stone Harbor, NJ.
It was a battle of two undefeated teams, a hard game with excellent skills on view.
The Club 7s Championships hosted by Serevi in Tukwila, Wash. will include two high-school-age tournaments as well.
As many as eight teams are slated to play in the HS Boys bracket of the Serevi Cup, with most being select sides. Rugby Washington will field two teams, Rugby Oregon will field one, and the Eastside Lions of the Seattle Area will also play.
Former England 7s star Ben Gollings is slated to be the USA Men’s coach for the Junior Olympics, taking 12 under-18 players to Nanjing,China next month.
The schedule for the World Club 7s is out with the New York and Seattle teams included.
New York returns to the tournament because they won the Pate in 2013. Seattle entered because that team won the Elite City 7s in Houston in June.
New USA 7s Men’t National Team Head Coach Mike Friday has laid down the law, and all players who want to be on the national team - at least the ones in the extended camp this past weekend - know what is expected of them.
