Year Two of the SCIRF Girls 7s, encompassing 10 tournaments and a championship round, is in the books.
With college coaches from Harvard, UCLA, SDSU, Long Beach State, Cal State Northridge and Rancho Dominguez, and UC Irvine present witnessed an exciting end of season
tournament. Lakewood B was crowned the Open Division Champ beating Mission Bay and Warren. Cathedral Catholic was crowned the D1 champ going undefeated throughout the day beating Lakewood A, Mira Costa, La Costa Canyon and Los Alamitos.
Over the course of the season, the teams played anywhere from 35 to 40 7s games. Twice, girls teams from Utah participated and played extremely well. As the demand for the girls to play in college in increasing, each tourney concluded with either a 10s or 15s scrimmage to expose the girls to the game they will be playing in. college.
