Women's Fall 2019 College Playoff Brackets

The Fall 2019 playoff brackets are set for the USA Rugby Women's Collegiate Fall Championships.

Defending women's DI fal champion Air Force is set to face a very tough Indiana team in the Round of 8. Air Force defeated Wyoming 83-19 over the weekend to win the Rocky Mountain Conference behind the superb work of Adrienne Yoder at center.

There will be three play-in games to round out the final eight.

Rocky Mountain runner-up Wyoming, which enjoyed a solid season, going a 4-2 season, with only Air Force beating them, will take on Texas #1 Texas A&M. Wyoming has been led by center Jessica Gentle, who scored — wait for it — 35 tries in six games this season. Yes, that's right.

Big Ten runner-up Michigan faces Pittsburgh in another play-in, while at-large team Davenport takes on Northern Iowa. Davenport lost big to Lindenwood and also lost to Navy and Penn State, but also logged wins over Notre Dame College, University of Notre Dame, Michigan State, and, last weekend, Michigan (67-10).

Waiting in the Round of 8 are Minnesota, and UConn and Northeastern—the top two in the Northeast. the #2 team in the Northeast could be playing Navy in a play-in (see changed graphic).

Amy Jones and Kelsey Fisher lead a UConn team that has a ton of talent, but Northeastern has been a bit stronger, and with a balanced attack including Amber Chisholm, Anya Hsu, and Caroline Swenson, they could go far.

DII

The DII bracket is massive, with a 1st round of 30 teams (two get a bye). Illinois State, IUP, Colorado School of Mines, the always-tough Winona State, Grand Valley State, SUNY Cortland, Bryant, Delaware, Bloomsburg, and Coast Guard are all part of a cadra of talented teams trying to knock off defending champs Vassar.
