Forty-six boys select sides, most all-star teams, but some from sub-state regions and a couple representing regions crossing state borders, will play in seven Regional Cup Tournaments this coming weekend and next.

The USA Rugby-sanction RCT series and the subsequent promotion of the tournaments as scouting opportunities for the HS All Americans, has increased participation in many circles. But at the same time, some tournaments have suffered from a little bit of saturation. The West, in particular, had three tournaments in a region that doesn't have that many states. As a result, the tournaments in Oregon and Southern California are smaller than others. Meanwhile, in the densely-populated Mid-Atlantic, 11 boys teams will play, and in the Rocky Mountain Challenge, along with the Mid-Atlantic, the most established of these tournaments, boasts nine teams.
