Rugby World Cup kicks off 3:15PM ET Friday.

NBC Sports’ presentation of the 2023 Rugby World Cup from France - featuring every match live on Peacock - begins tomorrow, Friday, Sept. 8, with host-nation and World No. 3 France taking on World No. 4 New Zealand at 3:15 p.m. ET live exclusively on Peacock.

Friday’s match marks the first time France and New Zealand will face each other in the Rugby World Cup since 2015, when the All Blacks defeated France, 62-13, in the quarterfinals en route to winning the championship. France was eliminated in the quarterfinals of the 2019 Rugby World Cup; the host-nation has finished as runners-up at the World Cup three times (2011, 1999, 1987). New Zealand finished in third place in 2019 and has won the tournament a record-tying three times (2015, 2011, 1987).

Peacock will stream all 48 matches of the 2023 Rugby World Cup live from Sept. 8-Oct. 28, presenting more than 100 hours of live coverage from France. To learn more about the 2023 Rugby World Cup on Peacock, which is available for $5.99/month, click here.

Current World No. 2 South Africa won the 2019 Rugby World Cup, defeating England in the final from Japan, marking the country’s third World Cup title and moving into a tie with New Zealand for the most Rugby World Cup titles. South Africa kicks off its 2023 World Cup campaign against Scotland this Sunday, Sept. 10, at 11:30 a.m. ET live on Peacock and CNBC.

World No. 1 Ireland, winners of the 2023 Six Nations Championship, open their World Cup play this Saturday at 9:30 a.m. ET against Romania live on Peacock.

This year’s tournament will be hosted by France, as the country prepares to host the 2024 Olympics in July of next year in its capital city of Paris. All Rugby World Cup matches will be held throughout the country at Stade de France, Stade de Toulouse, Stade de Marseille, OL Stadium, Stade Pierre-Mauroy, Stade de Bordeaux, Stade Geoffroy-Guichard, Stade de Nice, and Stade de la Beaujoire.

Group stage play, beginning with the opening match on Sept. 8, through Oct. 8, consists of four pools of five with each team playing the other four teams in their pool. The two top teams in each pool will qualify for the quarterfinals, which will be played on Oct. 14 and 15. The four quarterfinal winners will then advance to the semifinals (Oct. 20 and 21), with the two winners advancing to the final to be held on Saturday, Oct. 28, from Stade de France.

Participating teams in this year’s Rugby World Cup include: New Zealand, France, Italy, Uruguay, Namibia (Pool A); South Africa, Ireland, Scotland, Tonga, Romania (Pool B); Wales, Australia, Fiji, Georgia, Portugal (Pool C); and England, Japan, Argentina, Samoa, and Chile (Pool D).
