Village Lions Club Looking For Coaches

The Village Lions RFC is searching for a new Head Coach for its Men’s XVs program and a new Head Coach for its Women's XVs program.

Going into the club's 30th year, the Village Lions have one of the strongest rugby cultures in the US, a rich history of competitive success, and a player base that draws from all over the world. Following a National D2 semifinal appearance in 2016 (men), and finishing among the top women's D2 clubs five times in the 200s.

These are great opportunities for experienced coaches to help shape and develop the our Lions' XVs programs over the next two years.

This position will also be part of a burgeoning culture of performance coaching we are proactively developing at the Village Lions. Coaches who have received formal training in coaching and have a track record of success will be prioritized for attention.

The new coach will work with a pool of trainee club coaching assistants, Tiger Rugby, and coaching staff from Rugby United NY, the professional club in New York City. The focus will be on the following: strength and conditioning plans, development of player and decision-making skills, match strategy, and training plans. Importantly, the coach will seek out best practice and innovative approaches in XVs rugby.
